Rather strangely, all the shots that came out best were of the twin otter :D

AirSouthwest.....quite a funny landing from one of their Dash-8s today...trying to avoid a go-around in a mega crosswind, the (very skilful) pilot managed to land the plane on one wheel, continuing down the runway for a fair bit before planting the rest down on the ground. Unfortunately no pics as I was standing in the wrong place (Concordepilots fault :D)

You really don't need to say that in every thread.

Nice pics in all threads mic.  8-)

Really excellent stuff...  8-)

BTW, landing on the upwind wheel is quite an ordinary way to handle a crosswind... all that's required to do it right is a good feel for the wind and good footwork on the rudder. Guarantees (barring gusts) that you will only have all the wheels on the ground when the plane is finished flying and thus is less likely to have side-loads imposed on the gear (not that that spells disaster, necessarily). The rudder gets neutralized as you roll out, but ideally one should feed in aileron until there is full deflection by the time the airplane is settled on the runway.

Any coincidence that Viking just announced they were restarting production of the Twin Otter?

Great set of photos.
