Well done...thats a nice camera.

I see you went for IS then, please tell us (and show us) the advantage over non image stabilised. (I rather irritatingly bought then non IS 75-300mm, and saw a second hand IS lens for almost the same price  >:( )

That's a nice setup. I hope you enjoy it.

IS isn't all it's cracked up to be, personally I prefer my lenses without it...

I think that would depend on your age & experience. My hands aren't as steady as they used to be & my technique is far from perfect. I've only had it a few weeks but already benefitting from my new IS lens. I'm delighted with it.

It's all down to personal preference of course, and I'm glad you feel happy enough with it to disagree :)

Forgot to say before, that's a nice setup, I doubt you'll be disappointed. 8-)

Indeed. It's also a compromise on what you can afford. Your photos speak for themselves & I wish you'd been around to give me advice on equipment when I first started out in this hobby. It would have saved me a great deal of money. So many things I was told turned out to be completely wrong but it's been fun finding out. :)

Thanks for all the great comments, I hope to take this to Oshkosh this summer and take enough pictures for you guys that can't get there, feel like you were.  I'll let you know what I think of the IS, but I am the kind of person that if I didn't get it, I will always wonder if I should have. Cory, I am taking the Philly invite seriously. Now I going to see if I can post some pictures I took at KPIT yesterday, It was raining and overcast, but I couldn't wait. Stay tuned for the first set.  Thanks again, Mark  :)

The shots are from a new spot, since they started construction, that I was telling you about. All from runway 28L.
