It doesn't always have to be big and noisy...

...to be of some interest. Whilst the majority of my attention goes to fast jets and the like I don't mind seeing the more relaxing side of aviation from time to time. Fair enough, I won't go somewhere JUST to get stuff like this (ie Breighton has/had warbirds to see) but I still like to photograph them whilst there about.
I just thought they might make a pleasant change of pace. Apologies for the stupidly high shutter speed resulting in frozen props on most, but they are older shots I just found again. These are all at Breighton. :)

Ah, some real aeroplanes for a change. A couple of 'warbirds' I don't recognise there but the Mew Gull would make a nice tribute to the late Alex Henshaw who passed away last week. Haven't seen that for a long time.

No need to rub it in. ::) Some of us would be proud of these. :P

Neither have I sadly. RACo seem to have become more reserved with flying it. Does that Ryan now reside at Old Warden? I wondered where it had gone because I haven't seen it since 2004.

Sorry, that wasn't my intention :-[ I just don't like taking frozen props that's all.

Yes, it's owned by Tracey Curtis-Taylor. There are now two examples of the PT-22 at OW. Not sure for how long as Peter Holloway has a lot of new toys.

It's now a lot shinier too. T C-T has a few other toys at OW too.

I was thinking about G-AEXF the other day. It is well known that a replica is being built to be housed at RAF Hendon. Much as I hate to say it, should an airframe this historic still be operated, particularly with its chequered history - not an easy aeroplane to fly - hence numerous rebuilds since 1939! The same could be said of the DH88 at Old Warden, which may well not fly again.
