Yet more NYC randoms...
I decided late yesterday that I had to get out of the house or I'd go crazy... decided I'd catch the end of the exhibit of American comic book masters at the Jewish Museum in Manhattan. Too bad I couldn't take pics inside- it was pretty amazing. Loads of original sketches and extremely (extremely!) rare comic books... not enough Jack Kirby to really make me happy, but it was free (what- they should charge admission on the Sabbath? You're kidding, right?)
But... I did take a few curious shots outside as I wandered around... here's a snap of the Engineers' Gate at the east edge of central Park, taken just before I went inside the museum. The large reservoir is right there past that rampart...
Getting quite dark as I left, and decided to stroll across the park... here's two views of the Upper West Side taken from the jogging path around the reservoir.
I know... you non-NYers are probably thinking: "Walking in Central Park after nightfall?
Is it safe?"
Which reminds me... here's a special bonus movie-trivia question: what movie's climactic showdown takes place in this room (HUGE hint above)?
Made it across alive, although almost trampled by joggers... quite hungry and thirsty by the time I got to the West Side, so I tottered over to a place I haven't been to in ages. Unfortunately, they no longer serve food there, but they do pour the best pint of Guinness in Manhattan... perfect!

Went over to some other Irish pub near the subway and got some grub... plus another pint... not perfect, but close.
