I think I've already shown you the first hall....( Or haven't I ??)

Now it's over to the bombers...

Sorry for the low quality... Flash didn't work...

Also I'm already telling you that there won't be much of the fighter hall as the battery died out because My dad forgot to charge it! ( and no I wasn't happy about it...) Also I hate how they positioned the Vulcan ( although it was really nice to see her!)

Anyways

A wellington me thinks

The mighty B-24

I believe second highest scoring allied plane in terms of bombing missions... A love Lanc + a nice pun about something Goering said about that no alled plane would ever fly over Germany...

The lovely B-25

Some Fs'ers might recognise this paint..

Well that's it for this thread..

Next up is the Axis stuff ( well mostly German and one Fiat )

Also I'll try to bring forth some spits from the dark  :D

hope you like!

Good shots.

That Wellington looks like it could do with a dusting though.

Unlikely considering the cunning free entry plan means that they can only open part of the museum for 2 hrs per day because of staff shortages... ::)

One of the privilages of being in the RAF was free entry. Now everyone gets in free, and "all" the money comes from the public purse. False economy if I've ever seen it...

Only opening the museum for 2 hrs per day because of staff shortages doesn't sound to me like a problem of the free entry plan. All the other museums I've been to with free entry don't close for most of the day, so what makes Hendon so special in that respect?

It's only part of the museum which is open for a couple of hours per day - the WWI Grahame White hanger - they can't afford to staff it full time due to staff shortages - ie no one wants to/is suitable for the peanuts they pay...

Great shots Soui, my efforts in the bomber hall didn't come out well at all so it was good to see these.

Cheers,

TSC.

Well I'm not going to complain about museums being free. It means I can finally have cheap days out in London. Which is good when you have as little cash as I have.

Nice AAA targets. ;) ;D

P.S: Goering's fat must have somehow piled up in his brain and blocked any effort of rational thinking.

Just like it did when he said:
"Yes, I can destroy the BEF at Dunkirk."
"Yes, I can destroy the RAF in three weeks."
"Yes, I can supply the army in Stalingrad by air."

Etc, etc.

You would have thought he'd have learnt to shut up really. ;D

...without seriously considering the threat to his own people should retaliation occur, and to put it in a modern way "Ours were bigger than yours", and we sent more of them.

Silly silly idea, to think that one German pilot made the European theatre of war amoral, completely accidentally... :-?

Takes me back to that crazy day out a couple of years ago with Tony, Doug and Chris. What an excellent way to laugh through a day (and learn a LOT from Doug of course) 8-)

The V-2 had the potential to be the biggest of them all 'though...imagine 10 V-2s with nuclear warheads. Able to do the work in minutes for which the "Bomber Butthole"'s Bomber Command and US"Let's join the fun"AAF needed almost three years and thousands of aircraft.

Stupid to think that you could eradicate a city like London with a few medium bombers.

Itchy politicians.
