JFK-BOS pt 2

Very nice having a TV that you can actually see (unlike Delta's overhead panels)... my favorite channel... ;D

I'm pretty sure this is Mansfield airport (1B9)...

Thought this was Norwood, but I think it's New Bedfor (EWB).

This can only be BOS, aka Logan International...

A little different: Cessna 402operated by Nantucket Airlines.

Awesome! You know you can always recreate the flight in FS9 by using the fantastic Freeware KBOS scenery right? I personally love recreating flights that I have done in real life in FS9 ;) ;)

Barely.
Very interesting trying to get to 90W from the rental-car lot...  ::)

Best part is that I have to drive back tomorrow, because somebody spec'd the wrong part, and the right one is being rush-shipped in the m orning.
So I have to hang out here in Glens Falls until it gets here, finish my work, then drive almost 4 hours, install the other one, then drive home from Boston on the Friday night before a Monday Christmas. Oh joy.

Got a few more pix from the drive over today; some might be post-able.
Might even go over to the airport early in the morning to see if I can take a hop, or at least do some spotting.

What's funny about that is that I've flown pretty much the same flight, and in fact made the same trip (NYCBoston/Albany/NYC), in RL as a student pilot: my long solo X-C was TEB-OWD-ALB-TEB. That leg to Boston was a trip down Memory Lane... haven't flown over there north of the Sound in a long time.

Never re-flown an airline trip in the sim; that might be interesting. But I rarely fly airliners in FS9...

More great shots, Sean!! :)

If I am correct, "Wings" was loosely based on Nantucket Airlines.

Sandpiper Airlines, was the "stars" airline.. but I believe the competition (Roy's airline) was Nantucket.

What I remember most fondly was that goofy mechanic, because every mechanic we've had at a club seemed a lot like him

You mean Lowell Mather played by Thomas Haden Church. His character was great.  Also Tony Shalhoub's (who is in one of my favorite shows "Monk" ) character Antonio Scarpacci was funny also!

 Cory

It was a great cast, but I never really got into it. Just never grabbed me, despite the aviation tie-in.
And the crazy mechanic was sort of... scary. ;D

Lowell was nuttier than Murdoch from The A-Team... scary!   :D

The main character who was the normal brother lives in my town or at least did, we used to see him all the time and this was back when wings was big but nobody is really star struck here.  I dont think many people in my town really look up to celebrities, everyone is just kinda like "oh your on tv.....neat.....can you pass the sugar."

Geez, where have you been?  I was gone... and back... already. Drove out last week, for "Round 2". Much as I enjoy flying, it was so much better to get up at a decent hour, grab a rental car two blocks from my house, throw my tools in the trunk, and arrive at the hotel in Mass. less than 4 hours later. First time, with the flight out of JFK, it was almost 7 hours door-to-door. Blech.
I actually never spent any time in Beantown itself, once I left the airport... I was in Natick, for one day each time. Installing a little digital signage at Boston Scientific.
