Yep.... just like the title States, I have just bought my FIRST Digital camera (Well I was always into Photography) Just never had the chance to get a digital camera... Until now! I bought a HP945 off of ebay for $133.99 Which is kind of pricey for a 2-3 year old camera but it has 56X total zoom, 5MP and I think I'll love it.

Now I know the general rules of photography, and the camera doesnt come with much memory at all (32MB) so until january I wont be posting hundreds of shots, but a few here and there. The camera allows for changing lenses, adding filters, and that kind of thing (The reason I bought it) I like to spot boats (Odd to hear on an aviation forum) as well as the ocassional aircraft I see flying around. So the camera will do me well.

Now After my useless rambling on what I am buying and that I finally got a camera to use. It will be here sometime next week I imagine, money orders aren't the fastest way to pay!

Hi Gunny. I don't know anything about this camera so can't comment. I assume you've done your research. The important thing here is the Optical Zoom (8x). Forget the Digital Zoom as this can be better done with image editing software.

I found a review on the HP945 HERE

Well for a first digital camera, you certainly could have done a lot worse than this camera.......and thats not a knock........ 8-)

.........my first digital camera, although it was over eight years ago, was one with fixed lens, no shutterspeed adjustment, came with a two meg card and get this, had amazing resolution at 1/3 MegaPixel......yup, 300,000 pixels....no choice, only 640x480......... ::).........cost me $160 too !

..........the reality is, that if you want to learn about the "new" medium of photography after film, you have to start somewhere.........I learned with mine and you'll learn with your new one.........

..........seems you've done well for yourself !
