Looks like James beat me to it, but I may have a few snaps from today's spotting session at Sky Manor that he doesn't.

A little mise en scene, perhaps... I've never been here (except for a brief landing and departure, shoehorned inside the back of an RV-4 the whole time), so I was struck by the beauty and friendly-factor... really nice place. Wind was steady but brisk, just enough off the 25 centerline to make pilots work a bit.

The restaurant is very much the airport restaurant, and pretty good food. Of course, free food always tastes better to me...  ;)

No fences, and lots of seating and tables close to the taxiway. Beautiful pines all around (but not too close)... perfect hangout for spotting.

Today's surprise guest: Peg, the Wonder-Rotty, who is as happy as her master to just sit and watch things zoom by. A born spotter.

This guy was visiting from N87 in a nice old C-152; he made a few good short-field arrivals and departures, then parked to do a little spotting himself. I wasn't able to do any flying myself this weekend- too bad; the weather was perfect.

Her we see that Peg has officially accepted James, by standing on his foot. But don't let it go to your head, Flyboy- she'll do that with just about abnybody, especially if they scratch her butt. ;D

Next: a  busy afternoon at Sky Manor

Great shots Sean and it looks like Peg is having a good time to.   :)

It is always great to see flying activity at these bug smasher fields.   ;)

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

I was lucky enough to get to fly on Saturday with a friend-it's December, and it wasn't too windy or bumpy (still gusty though, but for winters in the northeast I'll take what I can get).

I've heard of sky manor, I'll have to check it out.  Always looking for new airport restaurants :D  Nice pics Rotty ;)
