All I want really is a good run of the mill digital camera that will take nice pretty pictures of planes and anything else that takes my fancy. 8-)

I would definatly buy online if you can, you could get an amazing deal at times.
I personally have a Kodak Z740, has its flaws but it takes some nice shots. Comes with 10x optical zoom, a very nice option.
Anything above 5mp its ideal, higher USUALLY te better. There are so many aspects you can get into im not going to start :D

Well you need good zoom, those cameras dont really have it (You may even want changeable lenses and filter addons if/when you want or can afford) The only one I see there that has it is 189 and thats the Kodak EasyShare Z650.... I am also looking for a digital camera but I am going with ebay... have a look around and see what you can on ebay if you can get stuff off from it!
Gunny (Currently bidding on a cam)

The majority of those will not take filters either

The fixed lens housing on the s5600 has a built in 55mm thread which will take filters, filter adaptors, wide angle lenses etc.
Not sure that any of the ones on the Boots website have that. And for aircraft/airshows you would not want anything with less than 10x optical zoom anyway. Omag's Panasonic Lumix Zwhateveritis has a 12x optical, and you can see how much closer he gets with that.
Stick with my Fuji though

I have the Nikon Coolpix L3 and its also a nice little camera.....5.1MP only 3x optical zoom (bit of a pain at airshows) but otherwise a good camera....all the shots I post on this site are taken with it.
I would reccommend it....a bargain at

I'm currently looking into the Panasonic/Lumix F-27... basically the follow-up on Omag's F-25... It's about 350 euro's here in Holland... But I have other projects which are in need of money too so am not sure when I'll get a camera :D
