NFA-VA 2006

Postby maulepilot117 » Sun Nov 12, 2006 8:04 pm

Hey guys,
I was at Civil Air Patrol's National Flight Academy Powered Track at Blackstone Army Airfield, VA over the '06 summer.  This was actually my third time being there.  First time I was a student and soloed at 10 hrs.  Next year, the director invited me back to be the "gas-man" (you can guess what my job was  :)).  This year, I was given the privalege of being the admin/operations director and public relations.  So, I took a lot of pictures.  Here are a few:

A couple of students pre-flighting with their instrutor looking on.

The flight line...from the far end.  We had eight CAP aircraft and the VA wing commander let us use his C172 for training aswell.

See that rickety tower in the background.  I spent a lot of my time up there as "Blackstone Advisory".

More pre-flight with a Col from CAP-USAF looking on.

The view of the flight line from the tower.

And saveing the best for last.  I believe this was one of the students soloing...good stuff.

I hope you enjoyed my little contribution.  If you want any information feel free to send me a PM  :).

You're in CAP right?  Just go to the National website (www.cap.gov) and go to the Cadet homepage.  There should be a link to NCSA where there should be more info on NFA-Powered.  NFA-VA had a website, but I dont remember the URL.  If you want anymore info, just shoot me a PM.

NFA-VA grad of 2000 here. I went back as staff in 2001, when that video was made. Still recognize some of the people in too. I soloed in N99885, I don't know if that one is still around. That program was one of the best things that ever happened to me. A couple years later, I got a job at a grocery store and managed to finish my private as I graduated high school. Since then, I added complex, high-performance, and tailwheel. And it all started at NFA
