Schaumburg Regional Airport

Postby beaky » Sat Nov 11, 2006 9:47 am

Had a little time Thurs. to stop by 06N (?)... too bad I was low on funds and not feeling so hot (shifting to a night schedule, etc)... it was a PERFECT day for flying.

Now Chicago's been hit with a whopper storm and it will most likely be rainy and/or snowy until I leave monday... sigh...
Well, at least I had a fantastic lunch at Pilot Pete's, and did a little spotting.

Some classy glass; I believe these belong to the flight school I was considering for a little dual. I'd like to do a rental checkout in one of these while I'm here; never flown one before.

Gorgeous Cessna 320 (320? huh...)

Another classic: Navion.

An older Cherokee with some recent wingtip mods... interesting.

Another classic Cessna; really nice 140(120? ).

Not the best position for aerial shots, but I sort of captured this departing Diamond.

Cirrus warming up for departure:

Some sort of test run-up going on here; the brick building to the right

They sure can afford the nice ones in Chicago, eh? :)

That Cherokee is neat. Almost like reversed winglets. :P

Nice line of Diamonds, I've been to Schaumburg many a time, unfortunately not to the airport. ;)

After a check of the trusty sectional, it says Schaumburg is 06C, just in case you were curious. ;)

Wonderful looking General Aviation Aircraft there Sean.

You got me drooling over that Cessna 320 in the second shot.  ;)

I just had to show that one to the old girl, she has not said anything yet as there are a couple of other ladies over right now.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Haven't looked it up yet, but what would you say the difference is between a 310 and a 320? Is it just a later, upgraded version?

I've often wondered that myself so I finally investigated. http://www.pilotfriend.com/aircraft%20performance/Cessna/C310.htm

Nice selection of shots there. ;)
