Photography course

Hi all,

went on a photography course this week.....really just an excuse to stay in a fantastic hotel for 3 nights, but learned a lot along the way....we took this one that I was really proud of

Not on Monday afternoon. Yesterday though is another matter, but not that low! ;) Lovely place, Wensleydale valley...

Ah...pity, next time   ;)

'tis indeed a lovely place, had a great view of a Tornado heading steadily East past the Buttertubs pass but completely failed to get the camera set up in time.

This was the only good view I got of a Tuc.....all the others came over when I was inside, do you wait for us all to go in?  ;D

Any post capture processing on that first image ?


Just to resize it for the forum, we have a whole series taken with various shutter speeds which were under or over exposed but this one got the foreground light just right with a grad nd8 filter (held by my fingertips ;) ) to tone down the sky.

Mrs 61_OTU was on the shutter release, it was a joint effort ;D

The Neutral Density makes lots of sense  .....now I see how the range of exposure was attained.......nice catch  8)

You may, it's a Fuji Finepix S5600. Nothing special but a massive improvement over my old Olympus mju 300.

Although I have only just begun to appreciate how to use the manual features of the camera, the course is making me lust after a full DSLR......maybe a little way off yet  ;)
