1: Bristol Herculies radial engine.
Used in the Sunderland (as pictured! ;D) and Stirling and Halifax and on the occasional Lancaster and many others.

2: Not to hot on jet engines.

3: Pegasus from the Harrier. The previous Pegasus engine (a radial) powerd the Swordfish.

4: It's off the Bristol Brabazon airliner prototype. Didn't the jet age make it obsolete?

5: Dunno.

You have the answer to #1, but not under #1.......The harrier Pegasus is correct as is the Bristol brabazon. This piece of metal is the only part that still exists.

You mean that Radial Engine no. 1 is the Bristol Pegasus that powered the Swordfish and the Blackburn Roc and Skua and The Bristol Bombay?

You are trying to pull a fast one here ;)

The engine in part 1, picture 2 is an Olympus, but it is a Rolls-Royce/Snecma Olympus 593 as found in Concord.

The engine in part 2 is also an Olympus, but a Bristol Olympus as powering the Avro Vulcan and the TRS2.

3 is a Rolls Royce Pegasus MK105.

And 5 is a Bristol Sycamore.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Another Brabazon question.

Does anone know what the Bristol Brabazon had that no other aircraft in history has ever had installed?

It was big enough, but no  ;D

A clue, it was found in the cockpit.

I have no idea but I know where another part of it is. We used it as a coat stand for many years.

PS. Did I tell you that I saw it in the air once? :P
