Yesterday, the Collings Foundation's WWII bombers were at my local airport (KMGJ) in Montgomery, NY.

Since it is only about 10 minutes away, I naturally was there. Present was their B-25 and B17.

Here's an overview shot

Waiting to climb into the B-17.
It was happy to see many children there who were all excited (even the girls) about "all the airplanes". Hopefully they are future aviiators and/ or GA supporters

Also there was another oganization present that brought a few WWII vehicles, and played era

Nice shots!! :)

What happen to the B-24 Witchcraft?  It was in Cape May, NJ in August and I know it had a brake problem then.

Good old Orange County Airport... landed there a few times.
And very cool that the Collings gang stopped there!
Isn't it amazing(and good) that little kids still get a kick out of old airplanes? ;D

How do you like that Sherman, Willit?  ;)

Love that Sherman!!  Looks like it's in great condition and ready to go into battle. Remember the movie "Tank" with  James Garner. That's what the Sherman reminds me of! :)

Don't think I've ever seen that one; I was thinking of Kelly's Heroes... LOL.

I've been to see both of them, and was in the B-17 when they were here at PBI.

I was supposed to fly in the B-17, but unfortunately not enough people signed up.

My God, How could I forget the three Shermans in Kelly's Heroes.  That is one of my favorite movies.  I even had Oddball as my avatar for a while and my signature was the whole group riding on a Sherman!! ::)

Took you long enough to remember all that... ::)

What was the quote? "I don't know how they work, I just drive 'em" or something. :P

Nice shots Joe. I saw all those birds plus a certain moderator in Farmingdale over Labor Day weekend. ;)
