Aircraft Nostalgia!

Was digging around in some family photo albums, and found these from a visit to Manchester Ringway in 1982. Scanned them in and they came out OK. I was wandering what that Aviogenex one is..I thought 727, but realised there wasnt a 3rd engine, and I'm not too hot on classic jets.

I know some will answer your question quite quickly, I think I know what it is but wont say simply to avoid looking stupid:)

Great pics, I would have loved to have gone spotting in those days, look at the tri-jets ;D

Ah ha, a quick shifty at some classic airliners sites is pointing me in the direction of a Tupolev Tu134......pretty cool.

PS, I didnt take these....theyre a bit before my time. i think it was my Grandad, with the woman in shot 4 being my mum.

It's nice to see those Tridents. :)

I bet civilian airports were much more interesting back when the aircraft were loud and smokey!

Nice shots Mic. ;)

Most of us old DC3 throttle jockeys thought our bird was big until we pulled up behind a DC9 which is a rather small aircraft compared to most now. :)

Still I would like to see them put one of those suck and blow jobs on wheel skis and land on unprepared lakes and ice floes like we did. ;D LOL  :)  ;)

One of the things I see Mic. is the old yellow marking painted on the tarmac for the gate and the open walk out which are both a thing of the past one will not likely see again.

Good pictures, make sure you keep them safe.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Well spotted but if Mic is right about the date it's more likely to be a 330. The first 360 didn't enter service until November 1982. http://www.airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=354
If I'm not mistaken it has twin fins & rudders.
