Fantasy of Flight, Pt 1

For those few who haven't actually heard of this place, it is the largest private warbird collection in the world.  The interesting thing is that the goal is that every plane eventually be flyable, and he has some GOOD planes!  All of the replica planes you see here are flyable...

You could do far worse for a gate guard than a Connie!

If you don't know what this plane is, turn in your copy of FS!  ;)  It's a replica also, of course...  Notice the Tri-motor in the back...  ;)

Not sure what this one is though...

The one thing I can't understand though, is that he's imported at least three perfectly airworthy* (ie they were flying until he bought them) aircraft over from the UK, and then consequently grounded them.

*(ARC's Lysander, the former Strathallan Mosquito, and the Sunderland)

While not flyable now, the Sunderland is out on the flightline now...

Aye. I don't think it fits anywhere else! ;) ;D

The Mossie ended up at the EAA museum on loan I believe. Last time I saw the Lizzie the poor thing was outside. I hope it was only temporary. Not a place for a fabric covered aircraft to live.
