This thread is just a few I had taken during the month of August.

Today I am working on framing out the custom wall unit that will house my 61"HDTV.

Measure Twice....... Cut Once!!!

The work zone! The room I am renovation is the bottom room on the right. You can see the house and 2nd story I put on back in 2002. The garage was the first project I ever did on this house. It used to be a 10X10 shed!

When I was younger, I had little respect for power tools. After cutting a piece of pipe on chop saw like this, a hot piece of metal flew right at my face and embedded itself in my cheek. It was only an inch or so from my eye. It would have done serious damage! Nowadays, I always wear eye protection. It can happen so quickly and is so preventative. besides, I need my eyes to see the final completion!

Here is a shot of the project that I am working on today. It is the framing for the 61"DLP. Below will house the front Left, center, Right and sub woofer speakers. Small Bose satellites will also be at the far left and right corners of the room near the ceiling for greater stereo separation and "wider" sounding effects when watching movies. A custom cloth grill will be made at a much later date. I removed the wall to the basement stairs. The basement stars are right behind the TV. I am using a type of "peg board" that works really well. It allows for air flow as the DLP projector lamp needs circulation and room to breath. By having this removable wall behind the TV, I will be able to access everything. I can actually remove the TV from the rear if need be. The closet on the right is big. Once inside the closet, directly to the Left is a big area. This is where the AV Rack will go. Everything for the media room and house system will be controlled from this closet. 21" monitor, PC for MP3's and all equipment will be in here. I will have to lower the step up & in to be more natural. That will require some work in the basement on the stairs. More on all the media stuff later.

Ok, I am done for the day. Cleaned up looking for a beer! I temporarily "hung" some of the ledge stone cultured rock on the wall to see how my idea is going to look. To the right is the kitchen that I built! Now that was a project in itself! 1st, let's go see how those little starter fish are doing in the tank.....

Good luck little guys....
