Amongst the clutter can be found some excellent nose-sections and simulators.

A C-47 nose adorned with a tribute to a subject very dear to the combat airman's heart.... that's right; sleep. ;)
Unfortunately, I could not get around to the back to get a pic of one of my favorite flight decks, so familiar to me now from many happy hours in FS9.
Did I mention I love those Gooneys? ;D

A random hunk of sim hardware... hmmm, where's the USB cable...?

A more contemporary bit of hardware: a Frasca helicopter simulator.

I think this is part of the instructor's station for the Frasca...

Next: sims, cockpits part 2

They look pretty much like orientation cockpits, like understanding instrument layout etc. They bug me not being able to see simulated terrain etc. :P -nice pic's! ;D

The wooden box, maybe, but the Frasca is a full-on (IFR?) simuator. There's even an old plotting table, but it was under a cloth.
Not positive, but it's possible that there was a small model of a helicopter mounted under that plexiglass box, to show the sim pilot the results of his control inputs. I'll ask next time I"m there.

Oh that makes sense, a model would represent perfectly fine the visual flight dynamics and control input's. ;D 8)

found this picture of a different old-type Frasca sim... looks like I was right. Same mechanism, with a little model hanging off it just left of center:
