Red Bull Air Race (Part One)

Postby mrjake2002 » Sun Sep 03, 2006 5:13 pm

Well, to sum up, bitter dissapointment. After travelling 8 hours in a van, getting lost in bath, putting up a tent at 11:30 at night, waiting in traffic for 4 hours to get into the damn thing only to fid that the racce wont go ahead :-/. They kept us waiting nearly 4 hours in there until the commentator finally said 'We should make a final desision in the next 15 minutes but it might be a good idea to leave now and try to beat the traffic. This was followed with a stampede. The weather actually did clear up as the pilots were cracking open the champagne to a tiny crowd infront of Longleat house, with much congratulations from the nutty Lord Bath. The highlight of the day was meeting the pilots in the pit lane and having a nice chat about whether or not the race would proceed.
We asked if we could fly some stunts anyway. Red Bull said no: this is not an airshow.

But, ive still managed to clog up three threads with other pictures of stuff on the ground. Anyway, enjoy the pics.

This picture pretty much sums it up. Sitting in the rain in a traffic jam after some fool decided to crash.
