Mics Duxford Air Atlantique (DC3) and intro
Well time to spam up the photo board with Duxford pics.
it was my first airshow at Duxford...the crowdline is a very strange layout but I eventually found a good spot near the runway threshhold at the far left of the crowd that sticks out from the rest of the crowdline....with the added bonus that everything taxies past on its way to display.
The weather was the key factor yesterday....it was advertised as a spitfire anniversary air show....but unfortunately the formation of 15 spitfires was cancelled due to strong winds (which were very strong) but most of them did turn up and were there to view as static planes, along with the Fiesler Storch and piper grasshoppers which were literally being blown about on the taxiway and had to be tied down.
A plus side of the wind was that many of the props took off and landed on the grass to avoid a nasty crosswind......this meant that on short final they passed right in front of where I was giving a very good view!!
I also got to look at a bit of the museum as I had a bit of time to kill before getting the bus back to the station.
I visited Skysim but didnt buy anything as I spent all my money on the train fare to cambridge.
So enjoy the pics......all the good ones are taken on the ground
