If you want to see that you'll need a ticket to Cape Town, or become Chief Exec of BAE SYSTEMS... ;D

People call the Victor ugly - most either love or hate it - but a look at the early models, before everything else was "glued", and you'll see its original beauty... :)

Below is the stunning second prototype - gloss black fuselage with a red cheat line, and silver wings...

Definatly love it! I think I like it more after it has been attacked with vents, tanks and various other external equipment. looks beasty!

What is a cheat line on an aircraft? is it a similar feature to what you can find on some cars - where the designer will use a pin stripe or a colour gradient to accentuate/hide panel creases and the like?

Very nice pics... I think the Victor, like so many examples of British machines, is not ugly at all, just a bit... eccentric. ;D
And the lines of the Lightning make up for what the Victor lacks in "sex appeal" ! ;D

Like many other British & American jets of the period the Victor is influenced by wartime German research. I can't recall exactly what it's based on right now but I've seen a remarkably similar German project which features the crescent-shaped wing, T-tail & even the short noseleg allowing ease of entry for the crew. I shall endeavour to find out more details.
