Mixed results with the camera probably cos I was getting adventurous. Also the sun kept disappearing behind a big cloud at the wrong moments. Here's a few that didn't come out too badly.

The warbirds. The beautiful Sea Fury.

Best one I got of Peter Vacher's immaculate Hurricane Mk I.

Had to include this. Sorry Mark, no close-ups of the Spits this time

The Duke of Brabant's B-25. They really throw this machine around.

For Jake. The Aces High Dak. This has been featured in an amazing number of films.

The Duke of Brabant Air Force is Dutch. http://www.dbaf.org/
The B-25 is its flagship. A tribute to the Dutch airmen serving with RAF (Dutch) 320 Squadron during WWII, some of whom flew B-25s based at Dunsfold.

PS. Dunsfold was also one of the bases used for the Berlin Air Lift in 1948 hence the relevance of the Dakota.

Much of it was "Lend Lease"

The US of course had a few British aircraft, mainly in the photo recce role (Mossie and Spitfire), and also operated the Spit in the fighter role. Then of course, we had US aircraft designed to British specification. Hence the Mustang was born...

...and improved when we gave you the Merlin to go with it... ;) ;D

Actually this Mitchell is a J and is a tribute to the men who fought in Indonesia not so long after WW2. Also The B-25's withc were flown from Dunsfold by 320sqn were B-25 C's. My grandfather was a navigator/gunner on one!

That B-25 is a real beauty and as Doug said they know how to throw her around indeed! Even when not at an airshow.  Interesting other stuff as well Doug! The people on whose grounds we camp must have had a great day as well as they live right down the road and the approach runs directly over their fields!

Now you've already made me get homesick to Dunsfold and I've only been gone for about 6 weeks....

Smashing shots!

I think Doug meant that the DoB B-25 was at Dunsfold as a tribute the 320Sqn aircrew, not that it flies as a tribute to them in general... :)
