Beutiful aircraft....I like the glass bubles at the fuselage....unique in general aviation 8)

I spent a good many hours in those things...some good some well lets just forget them ;)

Good all round platform, great range and the bubbles gave the aircraft several knots more speed over the aircraft that had dutch doors installed.

In your first shot if you look at the pylon that the wing and fuselage are attached to you can see the small window.
That is where the Flight Engineer sat with all engine controls.  He really couldn't see much.

The company I flew for had five "Cansos" and we removed that station and replaced it with a rubber bladder to haul fuel oil and stove oil with.

We flew the Cansos during the summer when the ice was out and the DC3s during the winter with wheel/skis.

Everything was done by hand, no pallet loads back then.
