It seems that our "Flying Trucker" has some interest in a few shots of a visitor to my area, so I took some time yesterday morning to go and see if the morning light and a polarizer would allow me to get a few shots which may bring some happiness to a distant friend.....

Very nice set of Shots Ken, looks like she's in near immaculate condition, have you any idea the last time she flew as by the looks of things the prop might have gone away for Overhaul ? ? ?

Hi John....as the bird sits now, she's awaiting sale, from what I can gather from some guys who work on the field.....it was flown in from where-ever ?.....checking into the "N-number", the plane has been registered as flying out of a base in Alaska, and its been located here for a couple of months now......?

I got this shot last November with Wendy standing beside it, it was a new arrival back then and prop is still installed, as you can see..........

She's already done a lot of work, I can see, but it's all there (except the prop), in well-maintained condition.

It reminds me of the day I was checking out a pilot who had about 2500 hours on amphibious Beavers, Cessna 180s and 185s.
This lad was a high school teacher and came up and flew with us every summer.  He did not look as old as some of his students .
Anyways we were taxing out and I instructed him how to get her up on the step.  We only had the one set of controls which you flipped back and forth in this particular Otter.
He advanced the levers so quickly we were at 37" and yanked back on the yoke.  I was held in my seat and the Otter never even went a float length and we were in the air.  I pushed the nose down with my foot to gain a little speed and climb.  The old girl climbed like a scared rabbit with two jackasses aboard , yes and they climbed with the nose slightly down like a helicopter.
But, that is how things were done back in those days, it is a wonder any of us are still alive the way we did some things.
I better stop telling stories or I will scare some of you folks half to death LOL
