Chopper-lovers, please advise...

Does anyone recognise this chopper? It flew remarkably high and almost made a jetlike sound, not the usual thumping of the rotors... Sorry about the quality. It flew in the direction of the sun and there is a haze present...

I was thinking about a Mil, but the blades on the tailrotor don't match...

Cheers,

Not a Pave Low I think, but something of the (Sea) Stallion family - perhaps of the Luftwaffe? We sometimes get the Luftwaffe Sea Stallions in the UK (often carrying an aeroplane underneath! - the Duxford He (CASA) 111 came all they way from Spain underneath one... ;D)

As soon as I saw that pic, I thought Pavelow or Sea Stallion. I think it might be a Sea Stallion as it appears to have the large torpedo tubes on the sides, but I'm not very sure.

I think its a pave low...those "torpedo tubes" I think are external fuel tanks on the "wing" pylons.

I would agree with Charlie, and say a Luftwaffe CH-53 Sea Stallion. The Pave Low is also part of the H-53 family.
