Or perhaps the subliminal effect of the awesome-ness of our beloved Blue Angels... ;D

Formation Falcons!? That's a new one on me, and a great idea.

Terrific photos as usual... :)

The blue eagles are pretty dull......except one bit of their display, where the man I christend "Mr back flip guy" does loads of backflips.

Good old westland lynx, and good old guy who is only person qualified to do backflips. (How can you get a qualification for doing backflips in helicopters)

Nice pics, as always

I note the Blue Eagles are still not using smoke. Health & Safety regulations again. Their display looks much better with smoke.

Mic mic mic :-/
You gotta understand just how far to the edge these guys push their helicopters in the display to realise how good they are.
Technically he is considered the only pilot in the army right now qualified to do display backflips. While its not if I remember rightly, part of the training, you do see them doing it occasionally at the school of army aviation.

As a side note, the comentator says during the display that the helicopters used in the display will go back to being operational trainers the following day. Thats not true, as they have to go into major maintenance after displays, and still to this day my dad grumbles on after watching them display, how it used to be left in his hands to "fix the bloody things" on a monday morning. :D
