Banner drop at 47N

Another quick flight today... the usual stuff stymied my planned XC: haze, turbulence, flat nosewheel, etc., etc... bounced around the pattern for not quite an hour and decided I'd had enough. I can't remember ever feeling so much like not flying... it was weird, and a little depressing.
But it was kinda fun watching the banner-boys doing their thing... here's a "Bird Dog" in civvie colors dropping a banner alongside the runway, after flying it up and down the beach for a while.

Nice shots!! :)

I heard a couple banner planes went down on Saturday.  Both around Toms River.  The good news is nobody was killed!! :)

Whew... it's a dangerous job. Glad they're OK.
These guys that work out of 47N are good... I wish I'd had my camera out when a different Bird Dog pilot made an extreme high-perf takeoff before coming around for the pickup... the strong wind helped, but- dang! I didn't know that plane could pop up like that!!  :o
