Comox Base fun-fly ......

Postby Rifleman » Sun Jun 25, 2006 10:22 pm

This weekend was the annual fun-fly over on a back unused runway of the Cdn Forces Base in Comox B.C.
Although they don't actively use the runway anymore, it is still a workable site for many activities....namely, R/C flying......Wendy and I took a pass here this afternoon and saw some of the usual good scale stuff which flies on Vancouver Island at different venues....this one in particular brings together many like-minded fellas....here is some of the pit line-up.....sorry its not much but the sun was blazing and we didn't stay too long......

This brings back a lot of nice memories. I haven't done any R/C flying for far too long.

Love that Sturmovik- not your typical RC model! And that Fleet is very nice, too.... and those racers... OK, they're all terrific. ;D

I still haven't got into RC flying yet; prob'ly for the best... all that time and money, then they crash. :P ;D

It has been too many years since I flew RC for me also.
There is noithing like the old smell of burning nitro and castor oil.  ;D
With today's use of synthetic oil, it just doesn't seem the same somehow.
Home airports are KMGJ and KSWF in Orange County, NY
Stop by and say hello. :)

Oh, glad that I am still an active R/C pilot...!

Nice photos, interesting models !

We had 2 cuties at our airfield last time, too, 2 Grumman F3Fs... 80pounds each, 240ccm engines...... darn nice... Great display, shame that both crashed that day....
