Wow!! Those shots are very cool Theis, I especially like the 3rd one - looks like spiders with fireworks!

Strange how you (including myself) take pictures of anything you can find when you get a new camera!

You've done well with the pic of your dog and the water!

Advice:  When you're taking pics of birds in flight, etc. try using the speed setting by going to scene on the top wheel

They're great Theis!

Or alternately: Manually change the shutter speed. You'll need it to be pretty high if you want to catch them, unblurred (up at the 1/640, 1/800 end).

Tweek: The E-500s max shutter speed is 1/160 at the manuel shutterspeed change :)

1/160?! Seems a little low really... Unless it's using a different system for some reason, you're gonna struggle to photograph aircraft (jets in particular) straight from the off. Though don't worry, if it does go pear shaped, it does come with time and practice! (I've still got a lot of practicing to do!)

After looking for it, I found this:

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/O ... y_e500.asp

Min shutter      60 sec + Bulb (up to 8 mins)
Max shutter      1/4000 sec

That's definitely higher than 1/160! My camera only goes to 1/1000 sec, but that's more than enough, usually.
