As promised, a mob of Mustangs from Airventure 2003...

Miss Marilyn II taxiing:

Oh look, another full-throttle flyby at over 300 kts... becomes almost routine at Oshkosh during show week.

This makes me think of a waist-gunner's view: "Hello, little friends..."

Imagine a dozen short-stack V12s being run up- way up-  at the same time... this is what it looks like.
What it sounds like is... heaven. ;D

Ghostly missing-man flyby...

Well, that's it for now. No doubt I'll have a bushel of sharper pics from Jones Beach tomorrow, so grab your helmets and head for the shelter! ;D

Now, why does Miss Marylin look familiar to me? Being an up close shot, it's clear enough. As is, 100 years ago these pictures would definitely have been astonishing. ;) 8)

Love the photos Rotty. Keep 'em coming.

It's probably as close to an airshow that i'll get for a few years :(

Reminds me that Saving Private Ryan is on the Telly tonight...

Great shots Rotty... lovely warbirds!

What makes these prop fighters superb for airshows is that they can also go fairly slowly, allowing a good look at them (and the chance for a picture!)

But it's not the same without a full-throttle, low-level pass or two... ;D

Sadly, no. I had a partial roll of slide film... I may have some DC3 shots (shot with borrowed Canon DSLR) somewhere, but they may have all wound up on my disc that was destroyed before I could back it up...  :'(

You're catching on -- nor would the photos have been in color.
