I was getting my coffee this morning when I looked out to the backyard and saw this. Alright guys, on three. One.. two.. three!

Awwwwwwwwwwwww :)

It's legs were really wobbley when it ran, so it must have juuust been born this morning or last night. I hope I didn't upset the ecosystem or something when I made it run away.

It just ran from the yard to my moms garden, right by the window here in the basement. Sorry for the screen.

Hopefully its mom will be back soon. Little things like this are so defenseless against fox and the occasional bear that comes around here. Plus I'm probably going to be the one that has to clean up. Ewww. :P

It's a tough call as to whether or not shooing it away was right: on the one hand, it's best for it to fear people, but on the other, it's very stressful for them. I hope Mom didn't end up like Bambi's mom... :P
If it's still around and no sign of the mother, you might want to see if there's anyone around there who rescues fawns; they might be able to help.
Not that I'd deny a hungry fox or bear an opportunity for a nice meal, but if the mother was killed by people, it's not really fair, is it? They'd think twice about taking that fawn if she was nearby.
