Here's a few shots from the Van's fly-in at Popham today. Weather could have been better but not a bad turnout considering.

Typical friendly greeting. Hello chaps. Say cheese. :D

Anyone know what's unusual about this one?

This is just like the ones I used to fly in when I was in the ATC. Happy days. 8)

Nice shots as always. :)

That little biplane with forward-swept wings is unusual indeed. I've never seen anything like it.

What's not unusual about it? :P ;D

You've got a serious lead on me so far this season... ;P
It'll be hard to match these!
But the Blue Angels will be coming around this month,  then MAAM's WWII weekend, and the first show at ORA,... and I've been looking at the camera manual again... so look out!!  ;D

Wasn't the Mistral originally NOT a biplane?
Certainly a strange looking thing....
Nice snaps of the de Havilland toys and that Cub ;)

If I'm not mistaken, that two fingers salute has a slightly different meaning than "hello" in the British Isles...  :D
Great to see a real life Chippie!  :)

So THATS where they got the concept for the X-29 ? Hmmmmm.......... ::)

I really wish you were more interested in aviation Doug, then we might see a few unusual A/C each season .... ;) ....there's nothing unusal about a side-by-side, trike gear, fsw biplane, with a fully enclosed cockpit,  is there ?  ???

Again, very nice stuff........sometimes the flat light of cloudcover can be helpful in hiding some of the harsher shadows of bright sun......... 8)

As mentioned, a Beech 17 Staggerwing. Didn't know there were two of them in the UK, and they are both yellow! ;D

Not that one. The little Mistral. The Staggerwing has reverse stagger, not forward sweep.  Look here. ;)

What can I say, an astounding display of beautiful planes... and a talented "picture-shooter"... a real treat, as always!

The Tiger Moth and Chippies are my favorites... I'd like to attend such a display one day...
