Sony Tips

I've got a Sony DSCF-717 camera, and was curious if anybody else is using the same camera, and if so do they have any tips? Ive had mine for almost 2 years now, and Im still not very good with it.
Never the less, here is a quick shot I took the other day of a Canadian CP-140 Maritime Patrol Aircraft flying over my house.
