i have taken some more pictures with it now, basically the same subjects

the first and second were taken with the standard lens, so are more in focus and much more crisp.
the third was taken with the tele-photo lens, and the twig that is in front is taking some of the focus as i press the button half way, and so the flower itself is not as it should be in focus, i hope im not making too many excuses.

cheers

Try reducing the aperture to get more depth of field.... ;)

After setting ISO to Auto or 100 the important stuff to know is this......
Two main things control exposure in taking a picture.....Aperture and Shutter Speed...

1. Aperture is the hole you let the light in...(it has a variable size)
2. Shutter Speed is the time that hole is open....

You can control the Aperture by going to the "A" setting on your mode dial and going to a larger "F" number in your camera.....the larger the number, the smaller the hole.....
If you are going to use the flash up close, then you should use f5.6 - f8 -
