Maybe final practice shots of the year....?
After the cool windy and wet time we spent yesterday on the "Spit", Wendy and I spotted our perennial practice boys taking to the skies once again, so we drove like mad to get to a place called Kye Bay.....the Comox Base is just beyond the treeline on the left side of this first image.......
Here is what the area looks like from the top looking down over the sandy expanses exposed by the low tide.....

And just as I parked the car, we saw this sight as we looked to the right and towards the mainland.......

......and so for the next 15 mins or so, we saw formation after formation, doing their stuff in the grey overcast and only a select few observers to witness this practice session.........






..........all in all, from the distance and dull sky, I feel these could be better, but still, I'm glad I brought something to share as this could well be the last chance we get to see the Snowbirds go over their routine this year.........
