Bears were used for tricks, dancing etc.
One of them is blind.
Sad world we live in.

Bears dancing sure are cute, but they don't usually "teach" them to do that with gentle persuasion... :P
Hope all of those critters enjoy their "retirement", such as it is.

I look at those cuddly Bears and Tigers and I think to myself...
..anyone of those could tear me to shreds and eat me for dinner... :o...!

...Tortoises, I like...;)...!

LOL...!

Paul... ;)...!

P.S. ...an interesting fact...
In Britain, there are no dangerous wild animals, etc, roaming in the countryside, except for occasional Adder snake, an angry Wasp,...or a rampart Tortoise.. ;)...!
... ;)...!

At our zoo here in Ashboro NC we have a polar bear exibit. Of the 3 polar bears in the exibit, One of them is an ex/abused (formerly) polar bear. When last I saw him they were trying to fatten him up. Apprently all the traveling and poor living conditions in the circus life widdled this poor creature down. Curiously, when he wasn't swimming he was standing on a rock pile swinging his head back and fourth. It looked abnormal until I asked the keeper why he did this. It was because of the cage he used to be put in after every show. As small as it was it was his way of shaking off the cramped condition. They say he's getting better and better every day though with his therapy trainers. The poor guy went through hell though. Always good to see the brighter side of humanity step in and save these animals reguardless of species. God bless them one and all.
