OK no shiny expensive Hornby stuff, just a simple oval with a collection of various rolling stock


Pride of the shed... NS 1200 series with the big passenger train. This combination may have existed in reality, but most pictures show the new scheme 1200 with cargo only. This locomotive is all but phased out at the moment, just 2-3 are still operating.


3 very long cars behind it. Believe me... in reality these cars offer the best 2nd class ride of the whole Dutch railway.

The freighter (aka dump section)


Freighter locmotive. You may not see it from outside, but it's missing ALL the internal weight stuff so it has horrible traction. It doesn't have running lights either.


Rail cleaner cart and the big fuel cart.


Car transporter... Need a replacement for that one quite urgently. 50% of my 1:87 car models loaded in it

Takes me back to my "LIMA" days as a youngster. I would lay tracks of an almost unimaginable complexity, that had to stay there for weeks during the holidays... in the livingroom... My mother really liked that...

I've seen those big locomotives (as in the first pictures) hauling logs in Sweden. The damn things were so long it took about two minutes for them to pass.

May as well be almost the same machine. Original design is from Baldwin / Westinghouse, and the major drive parts are from the USA

Black one is a Countach.

Indeed, though i've just noticed yours appears to be electric, while these were definately diesel.

two minutes!!! oh dear, thats painfully slow that is...

i normally see a 200 car train carrying coal, moving about 35mph, taking it's sweet time. one could wait about 15-20 minutes for it. and god forbid two trains cross (at the particular intersection im talking about) i just turn around and go home, orogt whatever i was gonna do.

i love the trainset. especially the first. I downloaded a bunch of these trains for msft Train Sim, the whole lot of that railroad. if i find a link, i'll post it for TS fans.

At the moment there are six of these still driving around in reality, in another scheme as NS got rid of them.
