Spring has sprung! part 3

The saga continues... here are the few video frames of a glider approaching Blairstown Airport that were not too blurry.

Coming back from what must have been a fun ride out over the ridge...

I had to circle back so we could follow it's progress. The video is shaky but it was a beautiful thing to watch.

The zoom-out  sequence gives you a better idea of our relative position...

Between the convective activity, the NW wind tumbling over the ridge west of the field, and the abundnce of powered and unpowered traffic, I decide to definitely not land there.
No loss, really- it was not part of today's plan, and besides, I've been there: took my intro ride there, over ten years ago, in a Tomahawk.

The big S-bend in the Delaware River, near the town of Bushkill.
This is a beautiful place to fall in love with flying- especially on a fine spring day.

Next: what goes up must come down...

Hi Sean :)

Everything looks so dry and I don't see any evidence of any snow in the bush.
Was it an early spring?

Great shots, looks like a lovely area to fly over.
The gliders, are they flown by Air Cadets or are they a club?

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

No, just about typical. It's been pretty dry lately, and there was not much regular snow this winter... things have just started budding, but mostly on the ground. Trees have not pushed any green out yet.
Now it's raining... :P

I think it's a club, and I'm not sure if the CAP does any glider training in the area.

When you say CAP are you referring to the Civil Air Patrol or the Air Cadets?
I am not sure the United States has Army Cadets, Sea Cadets or Air Cadets like the Commonwealth Nations.
Here I do not think the Civil Air Patrol does gliding as part of their training.  The Royal Canadian Air Cadets certainly do and all year round.
