I'm wanting to get into model railroading. Two problems though.

1)  Room
2)  Price

I cant talk for edzmen,

but my 16*8 layout with scenery and rolling stock has gone as far as 4 figures, however most of that has been locos and scenery I havent gone into the detail as edzmen has done.

And about the detail there, its truly fantastic :o

For the ammount of detail that I wanted to add verses costs of buying it, the size of the layout isn't overly big.
I had a table built for it of 7ft 5ft- which is more than large enough one you start having to work out what scenery to add and where it should go to look accurate.

I used to have a much larger layout with a length of over 12ft about 9 years ago - but I never got started on senery before I sold it - the size and costs involved were just too great!  :o

Costs? I'm not actually sure of an exact figure, but the scnery cost more than I first expected.
I would say I've spent nearly
