Pics from my NEW camera!

OK guys, I got the camera a week ago now.  I got the Canon Rebel XT with 18-55mm NON IS lens.  And I have taken about 600 pics with it!

I also got a Sigma 100-300mm F4.5-5.6 lens, the battery grip, and two spare batteries.

I'm hoping to "cheat" my way around the rules here.

This is a link to a photo strip of pictures I've taken so far with the camera.

The cockpit picture belongs to the green/white airplane which is the Cessna 177RG Cardinal that I fly.  The white Cessna 172 belongs to our flight school and the face you can see in the shot is of my flight instructor.

The twin is just a resident airplane.  (later that day I had to go get the tug to get his airplane un-stuck in the mud! haha

The silver plane belongs to Skydive Snohomish.

Here are some more...the red white and blue Cessna 172 belongs to my FIRST flight instructor... just so you know how aresome this camera is... I didn't know it was him until I came back and looked at the picture full size... I could recognize his face!!

Um, there is a Beaver the shop is working on... ( I helped replace the horizontal stab last Friday!)  And some fun pics thanks to Skydive Snohomish, and the lineup of Cessna 152's owned by our flight school, Snohomish Flying Service.

So yeah, enjoy and lemme know what you think!

P.S.  Remember to CLICK on the pics for larger version!  Originals are 3,000+ pixels wide!

Looking good Boss. What's that Sigma lens like?

Thanks.

Well, that Sigma is quite picky.  It leaves no room to experiment with different apreture settings, as the only ones that will NOT give you an err99 are when the camera is set to the highest level for the focal length.  Zooming in is great, but if you need to zoom out you have to reset shutter speed AND ap.

Other than that, it's great.  lol  The only way I can get prop blur is by having the picture come out quite over-exposed.

If you're gonna get a Sigma 100-300... make SURE it's the F4! lol  Not the F4.5-5.6 like mine. ;)  (But for $50 you really can't go wrong)

I've never heard of a Sigma 100-300 f4.5-5.6... I've only seen the f4 (this one) and f4.5-6.7 versions of it.

Can you fill me in on that?

Oh I'm sorry... you're right, it's F4.5-6.7

And yesterday I shot another 188 pics and uploaded about 30 or so
