HMS ?

Postby Smoke2much » Wed Mar 15, 2006 11:54 am

Some of you may recall that I am building a toy boat for my little girl to sail on a boat lake.  I have managed to get the digital camera working again so I thought that I would post some shots of her.

She is somewhat bigger than her owner but floats surprisingly well.  The colour scheme is at the request of the lady who asked me to build her.  Purple ::)

There is still a huge amount of work to be done, but she should be on a pond near me this summer.

Because the lady asked Daddy for a boat, not for an aeroplane.

Nice work Will, I'm personally going through a purple phobia at the moment.
I have to say Abi looks more and more like Sarah... just as well really ;) ;D :-*

Very nice.
She might be the only little girl in the world with her own man-o-war under sail... the other kids will be giving her a wide berth on the pond this summer, no doubt.  ;D

It's a 74! Brilliant! I like the rake on the main mast. :)

Thanks Woody.  Getting the rake correct is 100% more difficult than I thought it would be.  As you can see from the shots the Mizzen went horribly wrong.  She is based on photo's of a Surveyors class Long 74 from 1812.
