Started a new, better job two weeks ago... same old nonsense, but a better deal overall. Here's some snaps of the site I'm currently working on (basically just supervising local electricialns installing/terminating audiovisual stuff):

The newish time/Warner Bldg, on Columbus Circle. Most of the work is on the 10th floor in the north tower; our "shanty" or field office, is on the 17th.

There are several conference rooms, some with 65" plasmas, but I've sort of been assigned to this big multi-purpose room, with several ceiling-mounted projectors and drop-down screens. Not shown is a huge JVC DLP which throws all the way across the room onto the biggest damn drop-down screen I've ever seen, with a fabric wall behind hiding a 2.1 cinema speaker array. These NEC DLPs are shown more or less in "show" position...
yes, there are four in this room alone, and four Panasonic pan/tilt/zoom hi-res cameras. They're loaded for bear here... ;D

Service position. The mighty GT5000... drool...

Been working long days (and all this weekend) to try to get this whole mishigosh done by the end of next week. It's coming together, despite the inevitable confusion and delays, including a mess cause by the design engineer leaving the company before completion... ::)
But I'm having a good time so far; like the people I'm working with, and the electrician working on this particular room is a guy I know from past jobs with my old employers.

Mmmm, yes. Shiny, too. Great views from the areas I've been working in, but alas the windows are filthy (still a construction site). Not really worth taking pictures.
Although maybe from the very nice cafeteria on the 10th floor...

It's actually a very handsome building, for a steel-and-glass box.
and if you liked the GT5000s, I'll try to get a pic of the big projector in that room, an enormous JVC, the model # of which I can't remember...
And the 65" plasmas are drool-inducing, too. ;D

You should accidently bring your rig to "test out" how well the setup is working. Just to make sure that there is no shuttering or anything, a nice MP flight should be quite nice no? Also getting to use the fiber optic internet shouldn't be too bad ithor.

Cheers

I dunno about bringing my rig, but when I get a company laptop this week, maybe I'll install my Atari version of CFS3 on it, and have a crack at that on the big screen...
But forget about using TW's network... not gonna happen.
