Better down here than up there: 47N (pt 2)

This PA28 wisely went around... and did not return. At this point it was blowing so hard the flag was pointing up occasionally...

The 172 took off again: very nice xwind technique. but taking off is easy by comparison...

... to landing. this was not as bad as the zoom lens makes it look, but it was pretty hairy. Even a couple of the older pilots shook their heads and said: "scary". Again, not a critique of the pilot's skill so much as a comment on the conditions. Not technically beyond the plane's demonstrated limits, but challenging.

This perfect little Grumman had no trouble... possibly a point in favor of low wings, I dunno.

Wow, that Cessna in #2 is shiny. :)

I think I've seen that Grumman around here before. Not sure. I need to bug my dad to take me to the airport one of these days..
