I was digging around in some old photo albums and came across this photo of my Uncle's plane.  It is a Cessna 196.  It has a 450hp Pratt & Whitney radial engine.  It has been completly restored.  Down to the bare frame.  Everything has been redone.  My uncle spent many years working on it.  I wish I could remeber the year it was built.  I want to say in the 1950's.  Maybe some of you Cessna buffs will know.  Anyhow this plane is awesome and I hope you like it   ;D ;D ;D

The 190/195 series came out in 1947; the 196 is a 195 with a bigger engine. Might be one of a kind-  does this look familiar?

Got all this from this excellent site:

Amazing plane! But once again, that landinggear looks so fragile compared to the masive fuselage!

That's classic Cessna landing-gear: one big hunk of spring steel.  Very hard to break- believe me, I know!! ;) ;D
I can't stop looking at this wonderful example of the type; with the massive R-985 on the nose and the wingtip tanks, it must be a fantastic x-country machine.

And just damn pretty... ;D

I was aboout to say "I didn't know they put a R-985 in a 195" but then I read the other posts.
