Snowy Nor'easter

Well, it's been coming down since yesterday afternoon... got up at 10 and saw this:

Image

I'd had to leave the car on the street- not too badly plowed-in, and the NE wind has left a nice hollow on the passenger side. I decide to clear it off and move it forward, where it'll be slightly better blocked from the wind.

Image

There's a huge drift just ahead, but since I had the foresight to leave it in 4WD yesterday, the Tracker has no trouble plowing through. Not going anywhere today, but I may need it tomorrow, so I dig a little of the plow-drift away from the left side, in case things freeze up later... probably hit it again later, 'cause it's still coming down, and the wind is blowing hard.

Image

I'll probably take some more snaps later when I take Peg for her walk... who knows? Maybe I'll make a snowman... ;D

Nice shots Rotty. I'm currently taking a breather from shoveling out my driveway. I'll post pics when I'm done. :)

Ah snap.  That looks like fun.

No snow here.  Just wind and cold.

Ah snap.  That looks like fun.

It was... that drift was so deep it threw a pile of snow up on the hood as i drove thu it. I was tempted to drive around a little, but thought better of it... too many drivers out there who can't cope with snow.

lol...its funny to watch videos on the weather channel of people who dont know how to drive on snow and ice (the ones that dont hit anything anyways)  I remember awhile back when texas had a thin little layer of ice on the roads you could barely see (the kind most of us here would laugh at)  There was big 4x4s doing 360s on the highway.  When will people learn that you dont jerk the wheel to correct, just drift with it ::)

Still wish we would get some heavy snow soon.  Only about 1/2 inch on the ground now with about an inch expected tonight :'(   A foot or more of snow makes it fun, its about time for some more drift bustin on the country roads...or just playing around in some random field at 2AM :P

Don't speak too soon. Winter isn't over yet by a long chalk. It might look pretty for a little while but I can do without it thanks very much. :P ;)

Just you wait until global warming causes the gulf stream to shift! The UK will practically become a icecube floating on the atlantic.
