Past V-Day Flight
Coming up on Valentines day I was remembering a memorable one two years ago in which I took my then fiance (now wife) on a flight back in my home state of Maryland while we were on vacation.
I was still a student, so she sat in the back while an instructor was in the right seat. I had already solo xc'ed at this point, but Im not licensed yet, so they have to come.
Anyway, we took off out of W29, Bay Bridge Airport for KOXB, Ocean City, MD. Notice my wife's finger in view...

The airport is right next to Rt 50 and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on Kent Island, so finding it is not hard.

Here we are entering the pattern of KOXB, while my wife is taking pictures to the north looking at the inlet and the amusement area of the beach.

Here is a shot to the rear as we do a few TnG's. I wanted to take the opportunity to remain current while I could. You can see how close the airport is to the Atlantic Ocean.

Here we are coming for another TnG. This is the small island that separates the bay side from the ocean side.

Here we are looking at many of the hotels of Ocean City on the ocean side. You can see the bay on the back side.

Here we are on final after crossing over the bridge on base. The runway is 2900 x 60 ft and at 15ft ASL. I love this airport.

And thats it. One of the best flights I've had beyond my initial solos. And my wife still enjoys flying with me
