"Red sky in the morning..."

Few things more painful than having to crawl out of bed at dawn on a cold Sunday to go to work... as I stumbled out of my room to go feed the dog, cursing my very existence, I glanced out the LR windows and saw: incredible beauty. The reds were just amazing: these pix cannot quite convey it. And there is a certain shade of blue, not quite captuered here, but definitely my favorite shade of blue... just wish I could've sat there and watched it all unfold. And I did wait a bit, hoping to catch an arriving plane in silhouette against this stunning bacdrop, but... all was quiet at KEWR. Even the freight dogs were sleeping... ;D

But of course, this mix of clouds was a harbinger of some foul weather...

Beautiful shots!!! :)

That first one is my favorite.  With the buildings, streetlights and trains and then the sunrise it just all comes together to make that shot awesome!! :) :) ;D

Thanks. What i really like about it is that it came out pretty well considering it was shot thru 1/2" of plexiglass... with the lens right up on it, and little  direct light on the window, it's not too bad.

I'll have to put up a few from here at New River. The one thing I always enjoyed about working nights were the spectacular sun-sets we get...right over the field, its real surreal when you get an AH-1 coming in on the approach to 23, crosses right in front of the setting sun...absolutly beautiful.

I believe I detect a note of sarcasm ("roll eyes" emoticon)...  you were perhaps expecting pictures of airplanes...?

Sorry dude. Governer Corzine decided that Newark and Bloomsbury share sunrises.

Sorry. :)

I have a Kodak DX7590; got a super deal on it as it was a (virtually untouched) floor model. Was leery of buying a Kodak (their cameras have sucked since they stopped making the Brownie), but it has nice German optics (Schneider-Kreuznach). 7x optical zoom and up to 10x if you go digital. The digital zoom is pretty disappointing, but I've learned to work with 7x. It shoots at up to 5 MP, and also does pretty good video (something I haven't experimented much with so far).
Eventually I'm gonna get a UV filter, wide-angle lens and maybe a more powerful zoom or telephoto lens for it.
