Went inside the largest Helo in the world...

... It was actually two years back when I was fourteen. My parents are Belgian diplomats and have lived all over, so they have loads of friends around the world. Well, one of them happened to be one of the heads of the UN Air Operations. So when we went on a holiday to visit him (Eugene) and his family, he surprised us with a little visit to the biggest helo in the world! The Mil MI-26 Halo...  :)

Beauty she is! Damn, shes longer than a Boeing 737!


I was actually surprised this thing can take off! Saw it arrive!

The Navigator's panel! The hand in the shot is that of the Russian Pilot who was explaining some of the functions of the instruments and stuff!


Too bad they didnt open up the ramp...


I also snapped more shots inside a UN C-130H, of a UN Antonov AN-12 and IL-76 Candid.... Maybe I'll put those in different threads!

I have encountered the Herc back at Sheppard AFB in Texas and they are common place here in Little Rock AFB in Arkansas. Let me tell you, the Herc is probably the same if you are measuring the size of the fuselage alone.

Actually I can help you out on that one. I asked for the car to be parked next to the helo so that I could "compare the sizes"
