I head out as far as the Delaware River, do some steep turns and turns-around-a-point; take a bunch of pictures that didn't come out (LOL), then mosey back to 47N. Can you see the airport in this picture?

Flying over at 2500, to descend and 180 back for entry to left downwind for 07... lots of traffic now, and I'm picking up two other very busy airports on the same CTAF... lots of squelching... hate that. I took a picture on final, but it was too blurry...

Spied this nice little ultralight as I taxiied for another trip around the pattern:

After my flight, saw this flock of geese making a low pass right down the centerline... gotta look sharp at this field...

On the way home:

All in all, a good flight. Made 4 good landings, including one really sweet one. Booked the 172 for next Saturday: I've got a couple of potential passengers, but if any of you in the area want to go for a quick hop someplace, let me know... not sure where yet, but I've got a 3-hour block booked; should be able to do a 2-hr RT with that.

Rotty I know we were discussing this a while earlier, bit I asked my parents the other day and they said they just weren't comfortable with it. Which is understandable. But if you just want to fly in to Alexandria (N85) or Sky Manor (N40), I'd be glad to stop in and say hi. :)

Oh and Sky Manor has a superb restaraunt. I worked there for a bit. :D

Good that you finally asked; sorry they said "no", but it was only right to ask first.
I know I've been to N40, but I don't think I've eaten there. Could be a good idea.
:)

Good one... must be 100 airports in NJ with 7/25... like Central Jersey Regional, my home base.

::)  ;)  :D
Just checked my logbook... never been there. Flown over it a few times, though... it's  very close to 47N. In fact,  on Sunday I was practicing over the river, just a few miles south of there.
I have a few more shots from Sunday of the ground in that area... maybe I'll post them and see if you (or anybody) recognizes the places.

And  thhat is...? Nearest airport?

Yes, that's another problem; so many of my friends have wives/kids... in many ways a man becomes a boy again when he gets married... ;D
Anyway, ask her... I still have no definites for this Saturday... bored flying alone, and hhaving pax toss me a coupla bucks for expenses doesn't hurt.

Wellllllll the nearest airport is M17, I am in southwest Missouri......so that would be quite a flight to get here..LOL
And actually I was just kidding about the wife. We have friends who have planes at M17, and she and I, and the little one go flying sometimes with them. And go to fly-ins at the airports in this area....The first time the little one went up is two years ago, she was seven at the time, and she loves it  8)

Weelll... Missouri ain't all that far; I flew a 172 from NJ to New Orleans once; did it in 4-hr legs over two days (eaxh way), very enjoyable. But it cost me about a grand, and if it weren't for the low club rate I was getting at the time, free camping at my overnight stop, a free place to stay in N'Awlins, and no other major expenditures, I couldn't have spent the week down there. The problem is money.  I'm thinking about joining another club, because the rental rate I'm paying now, although quite reasonable for this area, is killing me. If I join another club, I'll definitely be making some long trips- maybe I'll stop by M17 one of these days. :)
Very nice for you that you have a flying family: I know some guys who have an interest, but cannot get past their wives' fear of flying in light aircraft. Those ladies oughtta turn off the news and just go take a ride... ;D

Here are a couple of more choices of airports not to far from me.  Kicking in some bucks to go up is no problem.  I work every other Saturday morning that's why I can't go this Sat.  Just let me know for any other time and I'll PM my cell number to you. ;D
