Rottycar series #3- 198? AMC Eagle

Happily, I only have one picture of my 3rd car: an AMC Eagle whose vintage I was thinking was 1989... but it must have been earlier. In any case, this scow was done long before I bought it; most of the wiring under the hood was a tangle of melted crud, the exhaust system leaked, it was stuck in 4-wheel-drive, and in the summertime the heat had to be put on full-blast to prevent the engine from overheating. But it had a sunroof, so it wasn't too bad. more oven-like than kiln-like...I adjusted.

 It was a temporary measure, so I let it fall apart.
Turned in to a flat-fix place once, only to have the right front wheel fall off- king post nut had come off, days, maybe weeks before. Fortunately, there was a garage next door, and fortunately it didn't come off on the highway... ;D I got rid of it soon after.
 Note again, the peeled-off vinyl roof... this was taken at the marina where I lived for awhile aboard a boat; that's a windsurfer lashed to the top of the Eagle... got it for free but never used it. Too busy.
 Look at that car, will you? what a *@#&!% bucket of $*%@! :D :D

It's the classic sedan, that looks like a premature SUV and would-be convertible... It has a wit of everything, but nothing really...  ;D ... Sorry Rotty...  ;D

Funny- I misread your post: though it said "Some things will do"... :D
But it did indeed, for several months.  Even repaired the suspension after the Wheel Incident, and kept driving it for awhile. I once hauled about 1/2 ton of steel scaffolding piled on the roof of that thing. It was pretty tough.
But what a pig... :P

A friend of mine had an Eagle Wagon and loved it.  He put a 4" lift kit and bigger tires and went everywhere with it.  He also had winches front and back and I never seen him get stuck.

 But we all know what AMC really stood for:

   A = All
   M = Mistakes
   C = Combined        ;D

LOL. You can imagine what would've happened had that wheel come off while I was bombing down the Turnpike at 75 mph or so, zooming around a curve. Maybe on a tight offramp, yeah, that would have been really special. :-X
I'd very likely not be sitting here typing this.
It was after that that I started to get pretty serious about maintaining my vehicles...

Give nothing.  Steer clear. Stay away.... far away.
Now- a hot-rodded Gremlin, aye, that's something else... ;) :D
